Lagos airlifts 2. 244 intending pilgrims

Consistent with its commitment to international best practices, the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has so far airlifted 2.244 intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This was revealed yesterday by the Amir-ul-Hajj, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef at the Murtala Mohammed Informational Airport, during the airlifting of the sixth batch of Lagos pilgrims.

He said that 101 intending pilgrims from Lagos combined with over 300 intending pilgrims from the State of Osun were on board the Flynas Airbus A330 aircraft which left Lagos at exactly 2.30pm.

The Amir-ul-Hajj also revealed that 15 more Lagos intending pilgrims are yet to be airlifted as a result of visa issuance challenges with the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Abuja.

He however gave assurances that the visa issues would be sorted out soonest.

While appealing to the affected intending pilgrims not to be disappointed with the unfortunate situation, Dr. AbdulLateef urged them to be present at the Board on Friday this week, saying their visa would be ready by then.

He wished those on board the sixth flight journey mercy and pray Allah grant all the Lagos State pilgrims and others across the world Allah’s guidance, Rahmah and make their hajj an acceptable one.
