Principal Officers


Imam Gafar who is the Chairman, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board was born in 1969. He attended Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School, Okepopo, Lagos-Island and Methodist Boys’ High School, Broad Street, Lagos for his secondary education. He is the Al-Mufassir (Qur’an Expounder) at the Lagos Central Mosque and a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Islamic Matters to the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).  

Imam Gafar, popularly known as Mofesaye, is a pioneer member of the Nigeria Inter Religious Council (NIREC), Lagos chapter as well as a member of the Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS) where he serves as the Chairman Sub-committee on Hajj. He has presented papers both at local and international at interfaith conferences.

He possesses B. Sc. Ed. (Physics); PGD (Electronic and Computer Engineering); M. Ed. (Manpower Training & Development Education); M. Ed. (Counselling Psychology) and PhD  (in view). He is happily married with kids.
